Today, Papaioannou has 57 hectares of organically certified vineyards, based in the important Greek wine region of Nemea in the Peloponnese. This is their interpretation of the great, white Assyrtiko variety.
Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.
We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).
For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.
For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.
Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.
We want all our cusomers to be 100% happy with their order and it is our aim to ensure that all orders are supplied to our customers arrive in perfect condition. You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us. We advise you to obtain a postal receipt or send the items back via recorded delivery.
Thanasis Papaioannou was regarded as one of the most important figures of modern Greek winemaking. His belief is a combination of indigenous varieties and organic viticulture are the vital ingredients to produce balanced wines reflecting the terroir. Today, his son works with 57 hectares of organically certified vineyards, located in the Nemea region of the Peloponnese. The wines represent some of the best value we have seen from anywhere, demonstrating real character at exceptional prices.
The Assyrtiko grapes are grown in the organic vineyards of "Achladias" in Nemea, on the slopes of the St Elias hill.
A classical white wine fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel.
Tasting Notes: Saline nose which unfurls to reveal hints of orange rind and Indian spices. Excellent palate weight without heaviness and a fine thread of acidity running through the wine.
