Shichiken brewery in Yamanishi prefecture has made sake since 1750, with locally-grown rice. This is their unusual, sparkling sake Yama No Kasumi, in a half-bottle format.

We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).
For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.
For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.
Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.
We want all our cusomers to be 100% happy with their order and it is our aim to ensure that all orders are supplied to our customers arrive in perfect condition. You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you need to cancel an order you have just placed, you can do so by calling our customer service team on 020 8951 9840 and provide your order confirmation number and name. If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us. Please email us at [email protected] with your order confirmation number, full name and the reason you for the return. Shipping charges are non-refundable. We advise you to obtain a postal receipt or send the items back via recorded delivery.
Shichiken brewery was founded in 1750 at the foot of Mt Kaikoma in the town of Hakashu of the Yamanashi district. The local area is classified as a Unesco Biosphere Reserve, to preserve the dense alpine vegetation and historic local communities, each with their own traditional agricultural techniques. Shichiken uses some of the purest water in Japan which flows directly off Mount Kaikoma, filtering through layers of 10 million year old granite. Only locally grown rice is used with long-slow fermentations to ensure these remain a unique, artisanal products with a well-defined sense of place.
Hitogokochi and Asahinoyume rice is used. The first fermentation occurs in vat then the secondary fermentation takes place in in bottle. Unfiltered and with no dosage.
Tasting Note: Slightly cloudy but with a silky texture, pear, apple and citrus notes with a mineral undertone. Fine lingering mousse.
Food Match: Ideal as an aperitif, with seafood or raw fish like ceviche.
