Pertois-Lebrun Le Fond Du Bateau is a delicate champagne with fruity notes that are balanced by hints of toast and vanilla. On the nose, delicate ripe citrus is combined with green apple, exotic pineapple and light vanilla. On the palate, this champagne is full-bodied but refreshing, with a long-lasting lemony aftertaste.
The story of Pertois-Lebrun began in 1955 with Paul Pertois, a winegrower from Cramant, and Françoise Lebrun, a winegrower from Mesnil-sur-Oger. Today, this family-owned estate is run by two brothers, Clement and Antoine, who spent their childhood in picturesque Provence. Different plots of the Pertois-Lebrun vineyard extend over the prestigious Côte des Blancs in the communes of Cramant, Chouilly, Oiry, Oger, and Mesnil-sur-Oger. This estate produces only Blanc de Blancs in Grand Cru. Made from the Chardonnay grape exclusively, this champagne offers freshness paired with outstanding maturity.
The ripe freshness of citrus fruits is accompanied by subtle notes of tropical fruits with hints of toast and vanilla, as well as a chalky finish typical of this terroir.
This champagne makes a great accompaniment to a creamy chicken casserole, a sea bass and crayfish gratin with champagne sauce, spicy Thai or Indian cuisine, as well as, fine aged pressed cheeses such as cantal or parmesan.
