Paolo Manzone is one of the leading winemakers in Barolo. The cru of Meriame has been a particular focus for him and this Riserva comes from 70-year-old vines in this underrated cru.
Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.
We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).
For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.
For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.
Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.
We want all our cusomers to be 100% happy with their order and it is our aim to ensure that all orders are supplied to our customers arrive in perfect condition. You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us. Paolo Manzone is one of the leading producers of Barolo. Prior to purchasing and renovating his property in Serralunga, Paolo Manzone spent many years as a highly respected wine consultant. The focus now is on the underrated cru Meriame where the family of Paolo's wife Luisella have had vineyards for generations but had previously sold the fruit until Paolo decided to release wines under the family name. Today, this collaboration has raised the profile of the Meriame cru, and Paolo's wines have won widespread recognition. His wines are traditional in style; structured and complex.
The grapes for the Riserva grapes come from 65 year-old vines, 20% in Serralunga and 80% in the Meriame cru.
The wine ages for 3 years in large oak barrel followed by 2 years in 500 litre ceramic Tuscan jars. The wine has just been released after further ageing in bottle.
Tasting Note: Perfumed bramble fruits, cinnamon, roasted meats, ripe yet approachable tannins and a fine acidity that is so typical of the region. This is an outstanding red that reveal layer upon layer of complex flavour as it unfurls in the glass.
Food Match: Ideal with fine meat dishes such as slow cooked pork ravioli or roasted pigeon.
