Chris and Andrea Mullineux have established a reputation for producing some of South Africa's outstanding wines from old Swartland vineyards. Their Old Vines White is a barrel-fermented white blend based on Chenin Blanc. Aromas of peach, pears, almond, blossom and honey. Fresh, yet richly textured with a long and layered finish.
Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.
We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).
For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.
For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.
Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.
We want all our cusomers to be 100% happy with their order and it is our aim to ensure that all orders are supplied to our customers arrive in perfect condition. You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us. We advise you to obtain a postal receipt or send the items back via recorded delivery.
Founded by Chris and Andrea Mullineux in 2007, Mullineux is one of the most lauded wineries in South Africa. Chris and Andrea chose the town of Riebeek-Kasteel, just west of Malmesbury in the Swartland, due to its old vineyards planted on granite and schist soils.
The Swartland is warm and dry in the summer, benefitting from a cooling afternoon breeze from the Atlantic Ocean, which borders the region to the West. Disease pressure is low, which, in turn, means spraying is kept to a minimum. The fashion for monoculture in the 1970s and 1980s bypassed the Swartland. As a result, most of the vineyards that Chris and Andrea own, or lease are planted with numerous native species like fynbos. These provide a home for native insects, which act as predators of other insects that can damage the vines. Again, this enables spraying to be kept to a minimum.
The ‘Old Vines’ White is sourced from seven low-yielding (4-6 tonnes per hectare) vineyards in the Swartland. It is predominantly Chenin Blanc, blended with a touch of Semillon Gris, Clairette Blanche, Grenache Blanc, Viognier, and Verdelho. The winemaking uses whole bunch pressing and fermentation in barrel with 100% malolactic. The resulting wine is aged for 11 months in a combination of old French oak 500-litre barrels and 2,000-litre foudre.
This wine has lifted aromas of fresh peach, poached pears, orange blossom and dried honey. The palate is fresh, and richly textured, with notes of almond, yellow grapefruit and ginger, which follow through to a long and layered finish.
