Spirit of Hven Old Hare is a blended whiskey from a mixture of grains each aged 3 to 5 years in European and American oak barrels. After blending each grain, it’s further blended with their malt whisky and aged a further 6-12 months in ex PX sherry and Spanish Red Gran Reserva barrels.
Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.
We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).
For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.
For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.
Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.
We want all our cusomers to be 100% happy with their order and it is our aim to ensure that all orders are supplied to our customers arrive in perfect condition. You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you need to cancel an order you have just placed, you can do so by calling our customer service team on 020 8951 9840 and provide your order confirmation number and name. If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us. Please email us at [email protected] with your order confirmation number, full name and the reason you for the return. Shipping charges are non-refundable. We advise you to obtain a postal receipt or send the items back via recorded delivery.
The base is made from grains grown on Hven. From soil to table, brewed, distilled and matured at Hven. Using a mixture of grains, the wheat gives vanilla sweetness and a certain bitterness; the rye for caramel and herbaceous notes while the corn lends floral and elegant nuttiness. They also use malted grains, which contribute to bready tones with hints of chocolate and fruitiness. The above grain distillates are aged for 3-5 years in new oak barrels of both European and American origin. Then the different grain distillates are mixed with Hven's malt whisky and the blend is then allowed up to a further 12 months to age, this time in oak barrels that previously contained sweet PX sherry and Spanish red wine. The name "Old Hare" is a tribute to the German field hares that are found in countless quantities on Hven.
