Gilbert Family Wines have their roots in the Eden Valley of South Australia, itself one of Australia's classic sources of bone-dry Riesling. This is their wine from a single vineyard.
Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.
We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).
For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.
For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.
Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.
We want all our cusomers to be 100% happy with their order and it is our aim to ensure that all orders are supplied to our customers arrive in perfect condition. You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you need to cancel an order you have just placed, you can do so by calling our customer service team on 020 8951 9840 and provide your order confirmation number and name. If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us. Please email us at [email protected] with your order confirmation number, full name and the reason you for the return. Shipping charges are non-refundable. We advise you to obtain a postal receipt or send the items back via recorded delivery.
Gilbert Family Wines have their roots in the Eden Valley of South Australia, where Joseph Gilbert was one of the first to plant grapes. They still make delicious Rieslings there under the Gilbert + Gilbert label. Now, however, the majority of their wines come from the fashionable regions of Orange and Mudgee in New South Wales. Simon Gilbert established the winery in 2004 after working for more than two decades as winemaker for some of the top producers in the area. Simon and his son, Will, specialise in cool climate wines with a common thread of elegance, purity and structure This winery is right at the front of Australia's new wave, making a wide range of wines which balance traditional styles and techniques with the more experimental.
This hails from a vineyard at 440 metres above sea level in Eden Valley, the source of many of Australia's very finest Rieslings, where warm days combine with elevation to create wines of ripeness, concentration and great purity.
The destemmed grapes were very gently pressed followed by fermentation in stainless steel vat. The wine was then aged on its lees for 3 months.

Tasting Note: A quite superb, award-winning Riesling that is starting to show the benefits of a little age. Elegant, aromatic with citrus apple and yellow plum accented with hints of smoke and minerals. Powerful viscous palate, yet bone-dry, mineral finish.
Food Match: Perfect with thai curries or grilled seabass.
