Alipus is Los Danzantes' artisan, single-site Mezcal range. San Andrés comes from agave grown at 1,550-1,700m above sea level, with lively acidity, roasted agave, white flower and caramel aromas.
Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.
We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).
For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.
For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.
Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.
We want all our cusomers to be 100% happy with their order and it is our aim to ensure that all orders are supplied to our customers arrive in perfect condition. You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you need to cancel an order you have just placed, you can do so by calling our customer service team on 020 8951 9840 and provide your order confirmation number and name. If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us. Please email us at [email protected] with your order confirmation number, full name and the reason you for the return. Shipping charges are non-refundable. We advise you to obtain a postal receipt or send the items back via recorded delivery.
Los Danzantes was founded in 1997 by two restaurateurs from Mexico City. They purchased a small distillery in Santiago Matatlán in Oaxaca. The distillery was then refurnished and adapted to modern requirements without forsaking traditional methods of production.
Alipús was established in 1999 by Los Danzantes to provide a market for family artisan distilleries. Hector Vázquez and later, Karina Abad Rojas, worked closely with selected small producers, both to improve their distillation methods and to help them with the complex paperwork required to certify their mezcals for export. Alipús is a social project that seeks to generate rural economy in Oaxaca through making and commercialising artisan Mezcal.
These are Mezcales jóvenes (unaged), made by local farmers. Alipús San Andres is produced by Don Valente Angel, and his sons Raul, Angel, Adrian, and his very intelligent grandson Semei, who Alipús have been working with since 2009.
Don Valente completed the build of a new distillery in 2014, with inventive changes on the production process but still caring about the handcraft process, with their own fields filled with Espadin, Bicuishes and Madrecuishes.
